SMILE LASIK Courses
SMILE LASIK training courses in Korea provide specialized education for ophthalmologists seeking advanced refractive surgery skills. These programs focus on Small Incision Lenticule Extraction (SMILE), covering patient selection, surgical technique, and perioperative care. Participants gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art femtosecond laser systems under expert supervision. The curriculum also includes management of complications and optimizing visual outcomes. Graduates are equipped to confidently perform SMILE procedures and improve patient satisfaction with minimally invasive vision correction.
Training Program Overview
This intensive, hands-on training program delivers advanced professional education in modern refractive and cataract surgery. The curriculum covers laser vision correction procedures including ZEISS SMILE and SMILE Pro, lens implantation techniques such as ICL and V-Toric ICL, and laser-assisted multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) cataract surgery.
The program is led by Dr. Jong-Ho Lee, CEO of BGSS Eye Clinic, a recognized pioneer in Korea’s refractive surgery field and an official ICL Instructor for STAAR Surgical. Through a combination of expert lectures and live surgery observation, the course is designed to share the latest surgical techniques and real-world clinical expertise with international ophthalmologists.
BGSS Eye Clinic has played a defining role in the evolution of vision correction in Korea. The clinic introduced LASEK surgery in 1997 and ICL implantation in 2002. In 2020, BGSS developed the world’s first V-ICL (Toric ICL for astigmatism correction), and in 2023 became the first clinic in Korea to adopt ZEISS SMILE Pro, continuing its leadership in advanced laser vision correction.
Internationally recognized for surgical excellence, BGSS Eye Clinic has been awarded “ICL World Best” for eight consecutive years, reflecting its high surgical volume and robust, data-driven clinical outcomes.
Building on over 28 years of clinical experience, this program focuses on sharing BGSS’s standardized surgical protocols and proven treatment systems with ophthalmologists worldwide.
Participants will receive comprehensive theoretical instruction alongside practical training, including hands-on operation of SMILE and SMILE Pro systems, ICL and V-Toric ICL implantation techniques, and laser-assisted multifocal IOL procedures. The program also includes practical guidance on surgical equipment setup, operating room workflow, and postoperative management—ensuring immediate clinical applicability in real-world practice.

What's special about Woomchan’s FUE

Minimize scarring
Non-incisional, leaving a small dot-shaped scar only, which is sufficiently covered by the surrounding hair

Natural results
Selectively collect the hair grafts suitable for the transplant area and transplant it naturally.

Fast recovery
Less pain and faster recovery because there is less scalp damage due to no incision.
Woomchan's special technology
One-touch FUE
technique for preserving hair follicles and surrounding tissues as they are, extraction with one punch.
In general, a punch blade is inserted from the scalp to a depth of 2-3 mm, and hair follicles are punched and collected. However, in this process, the hair follicle is pulled out, which can cause damage to the surrounding tissue attached to the hair follicle.
Woomchan's one-touch FUE is an accurate technology that collects surrounding tissues attached to the hair follicles by punching a little deeper at an average depth of 3-4mm from the scalp. This is an extraction method that requires a fine sense of approaching the dermis layer when punching and a high degree of proficiency.
